Which software product will provide the primary interface through which public services staff search the catalog? Will it be an internet-based interface or one that relies on a telnet like program?

Doris, thank you for your question! The staff interface to the catalog will be through the Workflows client. Workflows is a Windows-based program -- it's not a Web interface, but it's not the "dumb terminal" or "character cell" interface we are accustomed to with Circle in DRA Classic, either. Staff will be able to point and click with the mouse as well as use the keyboard.

Of course, staff will also have the option of searching the catalog through the public interface, the Enterprise Portal Solution, just as you can now search using Information Gateway or the Web2 catalog. Training will be provided for both interfaces.

Alan,

Thank you for your response. I have another question. With the new ILS will a link such as this one to ROMANCE FICETION by Kristin Ramsdell become obsolete: http://draweb.memphislibrary.org/Web2/tramp2.exe/form/A1em0e4d.002.

I am trying to create a link to the web catalog record for the project I am working on.

Doris,

As far as we know at this time, the current links to records in the online catalog will have to be re-done when we move to the new system. Since our "go live" date is a whole year away, however, I would not worry about it as you work on your current project.
